So, so, so many pearls... Everywhere

The fact that I almost started once again, by telling how much I love something, really tells that I'm doing what I supposed to be doing. But anyways, I love pearls! It isn't my oldest love, what becomes to crafting, but I might be the most passionated about it. Pearl embroidery is my favourite thing to do. It's basically using tiny pearls and thread to do shapes and pictures to fabric. By the way it's great way to cover mistakes and hide seams.

Good way to get pearls is from recycled clothes. You can get the cheapest shirt with pearls that are worth of so much more. Taking of and organizing those is like meditation. I like to use sawing pin and collect the needle full of pearls and then put those to right box or bag. It's easier to be fishing that small pearls with needle, then with your finger. My last finding is to use pill boxes for categorizing pearls by type and color.

This topic is actually very much related with Cheap but quality , but I thought more ways to save money. I like to use plastic wire more then metal wire because metal can't take too much bending before it'll break. Cheap way to get that is to use fishing line. One can be enough for life time, at least if you aren't professional jewellery maker. Things in crafting store are usually more expensive then they are in hardware or grocery store. Other example is double sided tape.

If you are working with pearls you need to accept the fact, that in that case, there will be pearls everywhere. I've lived like that years. It doesn't matter, how often you clean. You'll find those tiny pearls from everywhere! Somehow I can find those even from drawers, that are related to this. I used pearls to make a belt for my dress while ago. I had cheap necklace from secondhand shop and I changed those pearls to belt. It was shorter then my waist, so it has less strings then necklace had, but it was enough. I cut the lock off and passed fishing line inside a pearl string and didn't take those off from original thread before wire was in. That saves so much time. Tape is brilliant way to use on ends before finishing. It's easy to put on and off plus it's cheap. Now I'm doing earrings and thinking of doing tutorial about how to do those, if anyone is interested. @FromMadeByMeri

Working with a giant project

I've been busy and it's easy to see from, how often I've been writing lately. Anyways in beginning I promised for myself, that keeping the blog isn't going to be something, that I let to stress myself. I'm using all my time and energy for the work, what I'm doing right now. I don't want to tell more about it now, but for this post's sake, I need to tell, that I'm working with Photoshop and using hundreds of hours for this.

The biggest challenge for me is, that I don't remember to take a breaks. Somehow drawing with computer, doesn't feel same way working, then sewing or painting. I easily forget to drink or eat. Suddenly I notice,  that I've been drawing four hours and haven't moved at all. In long run, this is really stupid and I'm trying to focus specifically to this. Currently I'm "watching" Netflix while working. More like I have it open and I'm listening and time to time looking what is happening. My idea f…

Giving second change for my markers and buying new ones

I've been really into Inktober. Even more then I waited to be. I waited to have more problems with keeping this daily schedule, but surprisingly, only one day was hard to get anything done. I've been focusing to drawing so much and haven't really felt like writing. I think it's partly because, I've just been drawing and not doing that much anything else.

I've used almost completely my original markers. I had my first Sharpies ever and they used to be enough for me. Just because I didn't used to draw with them. I basically used those just for writing. They are okay and good for practicing, but now I'm needing more and I'm waiting from mail, my new Winston&Newton's Promarkers. I read and watched Youtube videos about, what would be the best for me. Copics are known to be the best, but the price is just way too much. I trust to Winston&Newton as brand, based of their other products, like paints. Also some artists actually prefer them, over C…

Art and feelings - hospital art

If you are saying that art doesn't wake any kind of feelings in you, you need to stop at next time and actually give a second to look at it. Art can be powerful tool and mood effective. I'm talking now specially about art in hospitals and other public places. In this context, art can be anything from actual painting or photography, to color of walls or pattern of ceiling. I'm always focused the patterns of air conditioner's grids. It sounds so small detail, but every hospital room has it and after laying somewhere hours, you'll start to notice details on roof.

I've got my dear share of hospital time. Time in waiting rooms, doctors offices, examination rooms, wards... There is usually one common thing. Something on walls, that is meant to make place to look nicer, warmer, more comfortable... Sometimes even more home like. It can be anything from doctor's kid's or kid patients drawings to abstract professional photographer's ink test like photos. Eith…
