Is photo always 1000 words more

It doesn't always has to be literal 1000 words, but letters can be more the photos. Getting posted mail, something else then bills, is starting to be history. Almost luxury! Making cards is easily something, that mostly kids do nowadays, but it doesn't need to be just for them. Handmade card just for the person, can be more respected and thoughtful gift to get, then actual gift.

Was it just the way to send a note, to tell that you care or something else, it's usually really good way to tell, that you were thinking of them. I've saved all the cards and letters that I've got in my lifetime in a box. It's like timeline of my life. All things that I've reached, problems I've over come, holidays, parties... They are stories for those moments.

Its not just that sentimental part, but its also good way to express yourself. Test new techniques and have something small to do, between big projects. It's nice to have something to do, that you can finish right away. You can use all those small peaces of papers, fabrics and ribbons, that were left from other projects. I have old stamps from collectors that I use with envelope, if I'm not sending it and needing actual new stamp for mail.

The most important tip, that I can ever tell to you is; Don't use clue with paper! Use double sided tape. Clue wets the paper and makes it look messy. It can also lead to it, that paper's colour starts to dissolve and go into all other materials. Or wet paper tears a part. Other things I like to use is a angle ruler and a pencil. It makes it easy, to get everything at right places, on right angle and of course all peaces will be right size. I'm going to look more into this subject, when I'll do cards next time.

Oh, one more thing about kids and card making.  This is my number one thing to do, while babysitting. With the smallest I usually start to draw. Then when they are about 3-4 years old, we start from ready shaped papers, colored pencils, tapes, stickers and everything like that. Most kids have liked it. And I also can work at same time! Sometimes we've send those to them, so they can see how mail works. We go to mailbox and will send those to themselves, so they can see, that the card actually came from that box to their home!

  3. First of all I would like to say wonderful blog!
I had a quick question in which I'd like to ask if you don't mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear
your head prior to writing. I've had a hard time clearing my thoughts in getting my
ideas out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it
just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any
    suggestions or hints? Kudos!

  4. It comes mostly naturally for me. I don't really need to think about it, but I also have a lot experiense. If I need help with planning somethins, I like to use mind maps. Think a theme and view main points or chapters. You don't have to write in order. You can write just toughts and keep editing it to text. Write first what you have in your mind and then work it to done text.

Working with a giant project

I've been busy and it's easy to see from, how often I've been writing lately. Anyways in beginning I promised for myself, that keeping the blog isn't going to be something, that I let to stress myself. I'm using all my time and energy for the work, what I'm doing right now. I don't want to tell more about it now, but for this post's sake, I need to tell, that I'm working with Photoshop and using hundreds of hours for this.

The biggest challenge for me is, that I don't remember to take a breaks. Somehow drawing with computer, doesn't feel same way working, then sewing or painting. I easily forget to drink or eat. Suddenly I notice,  that I've been drawing four hours and haven't moved at all. In long run, this is really stupid and I'm trying to focus specifically to this. Currently I'm "watching" Netflix while working. More like I have it open and I'm listening and time to time looking what is happening. My idea f…

Giving second change for my markers and buying new ones

I've been really into Inktober. Even more then I waited to be. I waited to have more problems with keeping this daily schedule, but surprisingly, only one day was hard to get anything done. I've been focusing to drawing so much and haven't really felt like writing. I think it's partly because, I've just been drawing and not doing that much anything else.

I've used almost completely my original markers. I had my first Sharpies ever and they used to be enough for me. Just because I didn't used to draw with them. I basically used those just for writing. They are okay and good for practicing, but now I'm needing more and I'm waiting from mail, my new Winston&Newton's Promarkers. I read and watched Youtube videos about, what would be the best for me. Copics are known to be the best, but the price is just way too much. I trust to Winston&Newton as brand, based of their other products, like paints. Also some artists actually prefer them, over C…

Art and feelings - hospital art

If you are saying that art doesn't wake any kind of feelings in you, you need to stop at next time and actually give a second to look at it. Art can be powerful tool and mood effective. I'm talking now specially about art in hospitals and other public places. In this context, art can be anything from actual painting or photography, to color of walls or pattern of ceiling. I'm always focused the patterns of air conditioner's grids. It sounds so small detail, but every hospital room has it and after laying somewhere hours, you'll start to notice details on roof.

I've got my dear share of hospital time. Time in waiting rooms, doctors offices, examination rooms, wards... There is usually one common thing. Something on walls, that is meant to make place to look nicer, warmer, more comfortable... Sometimes even more home like. It can be anything from doctor's kid's or kid patients drawings to abstract professional photographer's ink test like photos. Eith…
